Holiday Beach is very big and includes 51 bungalows with seaview, garden view and beachfront. It is THE resort you will probably hear most of at Thongsala Beach, due to their extensive programme of parties, films, etc.
Management and staff change frequently, and not all of them are friendly. Currently under Russian management (February 2011).
Some of the bungalows are quite overprized, offering only the basics, but for twice the price than some resorts around. Also the food, which is quite plainly prepared, is over the average prizes.
Holiday Beach resort hosts the Koh Phangan Film Festival once a year which is great.

Chor Chang offers a Thai hot pan buffet.
The concept is simple, but delicious:
You have a pan on your table under which there is a fire burning. You can barbecue right on this pan. Around the pan there is a little 'ditch' with a soup in it which collects all the juices running down, thus getting more delicious all the time.
There is a huge buffet with plenty of greens, meat, seafood, spices, sauces, fruits and things prepared in advance like fish cakes and meat balls.
They have an All-you-can-eat-policy, but if you leave something on your plate you will have to pay extra.

Phangan Film Festival takes place once a year in February, the films are being shown on a big screen at Holiday Beach Resort.
The focus is on international films which look at social and environmental issues.
You can pay entrance for just one night or buy a ticket for all three nights.
