Getting to Buriram

By Bus
From Bangkok with air-con bus at 9.30 and 21.30 h, the fare is 299/232 baht, it takes 5 hours.
From Korat (fare 118 baht, 2 hours travelling time) or Surin (fare 75 baht, 1 ½ hours) hourly bus to Ban Tako.
From here by motorcycle taxi for approx. 240 baht to both temples, including waiting time (negotiate duration) and return trip to the bus, altogether 40 km, 3–4 hours.
Another option is by bus to Prakhon Chai (about 20 km further east), then continue with a blue minibus (fare 17 baht), who goes on H2075 to the Southwest (signboard: “17 km Muaeng Tam”). From Mueang Tam, however, it is not so easy to reach Phanom Rung as no public transports are operating between both temples.
Driving on your own
Take H24 to the east until you reach Ban Tako (14 km east of Nang Rong), then turn right on H2117 and after 5.4 km in Ban Tapek turn left on H2221 to the mountain with the transmission masts (7 km) where Prasat Phanom Rung stands.
From here you can continue further to Prasat Muaeng Tam, go down the plain to the south for 2.3 km and then turn right (no signboard) and after another 4.2 km turn left.
