Rawai Beach



Nai Harn Beach
Rawai is situated in the far south of Phuket Island. Rawai includes the beaches of Ao Sane, Nai Harn and Yanui as well as the famous Laem Promthep.
The area of Rawai is still developing and is nowhere near to much established areas like Karon, Patong, Phuket Town etc.
Many tourists come to Rawai only in order to take a boat to one of the islands in the south.
Thais though arrive at Rawai in the evenings to indulge in seafood served right by the beach in several famous seafood restaurants.

Rawai Beach (หาดราไวย์) (Phuket)

Rawai Beach is situated in the far south of Phuket Island facing east. The shallow bay experiences only rarely strong wind or big waves, so it is an ideal parking ground for boats. As the beach is not very clean it is not suitable for swimming. Rawai's main attraction are the seafood restaurants right along the beach under high casuarina trees.
Rawai Beach is located 17 km south of Phuket Town.

Ao Sane is a small bay with white sand good for swimming and snorkeling.
Ao Sane is located on the right of Nai Harn Beach, passing through the car park of Phuket Yacht Club. There is only one small resort in Ao Sane Beach that caters for budget travelers offering quite old huts.

Nai Harn Beach is situated in a deep bay in the far south of Phuket Island. Nai Harn is quite secluded and is the anchoring bay for yachts from around the world. Although the beach is covered by many sunbeds it has clean, white sand. There are several high class hotels behind the access road. At the southern end local families enjoy the beauty of Nai Harn Beach.
During the monsoon season from May to October, it is not advisable to go swimming as the wind and waves are very strong.
Nai Harn Beach is about 21 kilometers away from Phuket Town.

Yanui Beach - Attractions
Yanui Beach (Yanui Beach) (Phuket)

Yanui Beach is the southernmost beach of Phuket. It can be reached on a very winding road up and down from Nai Harn Beach in the north and from Laem Phromthep in the south. The beach is covered with holidaymakers in deckchairs and under umbrellas. Many families with small children enjoy the calm waters of Yanui.
At sunset the view of the sky can become gorgeous and dramatic.
Behind the road are five friendly, family-run bungalow villages.

Laem Ka Beach (Phuket)

Laem Ka Beach is a beautiful small beach with sand and picturesque boulders to the east of Rawai. Once popular with several restaurants and food stalls nowadays a lonesome kiosk provides drinks and a couple of deckchairs. Although the area is not kept tidy, the beach and the view are very beautiful. This is a wonderful spot for visitors who are seeking peace and quiet, a rare place in busy Phuket.
