Nine Sacred Places to visit in Phuket

Thao Thepkasattri - Thao Srisoontorn Monument was built in 1966 in honor of the heroines of Thalang by people stayed in Phuket on that time.

On the 24th of March, 1967, the statues were placed on the stand which was the very same day the Burmese were forced to retreat 182 years earlier. Later in the year 1967 it was officially made a monument.

Thao Thepkasattri - Thao Srisoontorn Monument is located at the roundabout intersection in Thalang, the crossroad of highways H402 and H4025.

At Wat Chalong visitors come to pay respect to the statue of Luang Po Cham, a monk who helped the villagers fight the Ahngyee rebels in 1876 during the reign of King Rama V.
Also, there are images of Luang Po Chuang and Luang Po Gluam, the heads of the monks in the following era whom are highly respected by the Phuket people.
Chalong Temple is located 8 km from Phuket town east of the bypass road.
