This road takes you from Ao Tha Len past Krabi Town to the island of Koh Lanta. With a stop at the Hot Springs and the Emerald Pool, which you pass on your way.
Rents for motorbikes start at 180 Baht per day, depending on the duration of the lease. Cars start at 1.000 Baht per day. Ask at Akanak Resort, Krabi Discovery or The Bananas for Alternatively you can find Avis, Budget and Hertz at the airport upon arrival. Budget has a subsidiary in Klong Muang. Cars can also be rented with a chauffeur if you do not want to drive yourself. For further information you can alsways ask at the front desk of your accommodation.

Krabi Discovery Resort and Restaurant in Ao Tha Len offers nice detached bungalows with hot shower, air con and fridge. The restaurant is open from 8.00 - 21.00. Transport is advisable when staying in Ao Tha Len.

The Bananas Bungalows are situated right on the beach. This pristine Bungalow site is run by Olli, who takes care of all the customer's wishes. It is a place you will feel welcome from the moment you enter the gates. The bungalows are made from bamboo with private bathrooms and there is plenty of space at The Bananas to put up your hammock! The concrete Bungalows and the dormitory have hot water showers too. The Restaurant at the Bananas cooks to your individual taste with specials in the evenings. Shuttle services, motorbikes for rent and tours.
Follow the road from Ao Tha Len through Khao Thong and continue on H4033 until you get to the junction with H4. Turn right on H4. Turn left at the traffic lights and take a right at the next traffic light and follow H4 south towards Trang.
Follow the Highway until you see the sign to your left Emerald Pond turn left into H4038. Then follow the signs Emerald Pool and Hot Springs. Both are worth a visit. You can swim in the pond and take a bath in the hot springs. Just make sure you dress respectfully, especially ladies. Please wear a swimming suit instead of a bikini. At the entrances to the parks you will find various food stalls offering authentic Thai food and refreshments.
Emerald Pool,known as Sa Morakot,is a natural pond that originates from a warm stream in the lowland forest of Khao Nor Juji.
The pool is an amazing green and aquamarine color. The intense turquoise color varies according to the light and time of the day. The pool can be visited all year round. Entrance fee is 200 Baht for foreigners and 20 Baht for Thais.
Ron Klong Thom Waterfall, better known as Krabi Hot Springs, is located close to the Emerald Pool. The waterfall is in a shady forest area with numerous hot springs. The hot and cool streams converge on a slope of warm water with a temperature of 40C. Entrance fee is 50 Baht.
Ron Klong Thom Waterfall is located about 45 km. from Krabi Town.
After your visit to the parks go back the same route until you hit H4, turn left and follow the Highway to the south until you see Wat Klong Thom Tempel and Museum to your left. If you are interested in the history of Krabi the museum is worth a visit. Then just follow the road further down until you see the sign Koh Lanta. At the petrol station you turn left on H4206.
Wat Klong Thom Museum contains various objects from the early history of Krabi Province. During excavations in the 1980's, seals from the 5th to 7th century came to light as well as pearls and bronze mirrors from the Chinese Han Dynasty. Wat Klong Thom Museum is situated within the compound of Wat Klong Thom between KM 69-70 on Petchkasem road, just 1 km from the District office.
Follow the road until you get to the ferry pier. The first ferry takes you to Koh Lanta Noi, Lanta´s quiet sister island with no tourist services. You cross Lanta Noi and then take the second ferry that takes you to Koh Lanta Yai - Ban Saladan. The first ferry takes about 30 minutes and the second one only ten. You do not need a reservation for the ferries, they run from 06.00 - 22.00. From here you can start to explore Koh Lanta. Take a right off the ferry and another right and you are in Ban Saladan. Why not stop at the Safety Stop , get some more information about the island and have a cold drink before deciding which beach to go to to look for accommodation.
The Safety Stop belongs to Koh Lanta Diving Center, located next to Saladan Health Center. It is a Coffee Shop Restaurant and when the dive boat returns you find many divers enjoying their 'decompression drink'. At Safety Stop you can enjoy fresh coffee, mixed juices as well as cold beers and mixed drinks.
Nong Cat is a Thai and German Restaurant. Set back from the bustling main road in a beautiful garden, Nong Cat Restaurant offers tasty Thai food and some European delights. Daily Specials and occasionally BBQs just watch out for the black board next to Lanta Pharmacy.
