Off-Road to nowhere

After you've relaxed, sunbathed and read enough, it might be time for some action!
A good option for that is a motorbike trip to the East Coast on a rather unpopular road. You should not really count on ever getting there. But that shouldn't reduce the fun!
It is important to wear real shoes for that trip. You have to decide for yourself if you want to wear a helmet or not.  You don't have to wear helemts by law, but sometimes you will have to pay some cop Baht 250 if he catches you without. After all, it can't harm...
It is also recommended not to take this trip alone. If something happens, the others can get help.
On the main road to Hat Rin, make a left towards 'Samanora Waterfall'. The road will get exciting right away!
You can stop at the waterfall to take in the stunning setting and freshen up with some river water. Then you have to ride a few hundred meters back and from now on follow the signs saying 'Hat Why Nam'.
From that point on the 'road' will get wild! It goes steep into the jungle, offering spectacular views to both sides. Make sure to look at the road every now and then if you don't wanna crash!
Up and down and left and right, holes and ditches right in the middle of the path. Now you will have to decide how far you want to go. It depends on your skills and your courage. But no matter how far you get after all, this trip is a real highlight. Also because noone else is stupid enough to even try!
Once back down on the ground you can have an iced coffee along the street. Then you will notice how your hands tremble from the trip and the excitement!

This trip got you hungry? This is a place worth stopping on the way back:
Thai-Restaurant
Asian Food Restaurant
Thai Restaurant
>>
Thai-Restaurant (ร้านอาหารไทย) (ThongSala)

Unfortunately, this restaurant does not have a name, at least none any farang would understand. But you can't really miss it, just look for the big aluminum oven from the main road. The restaurant is located opposite the 50 Baht store in Thongsala.
You will find several Thai classics here which are all incredibly cheap and very tasty. But there is one dish you will hardly find anywhere else: It is a kind of an omelette, made in a steel pan, which is filled with seafood and sprouts. Along with it you will get a spicy dipping sauce, delicious!
The people running the place speak little English, but are very lovely.
After eating, order an icecoffee at the neighbour's shop, very tasty as well.

Thong Sala, Koh Phangan, Surat Thani 84280
