The small bay near the main village is rather polluted and cannot be measured with other beaches on the island. However, the picturesque rocky coast towards south, Ao Ta Saeng, offers good snorkeling opportunities. Passing along the southern bungalow resorts you can walk for 20 minutes over the hill to Jansom Bay, a nice private bay with sandy beach, palm trees and rocks. The nice and well-tended Whitening Bar features a balcony to the sea where you can enjoy interesting cocktails (120 to 150 Baht) in a pleasant ambiance, especially recommended during sunset. The original Thai dishes cost slightly more than elsewhere.
