Hat Yao, also called Black Beach is about 20 km south east of Krabi Town. The long stretch of beach with black sand (the only beach with black sand in Krabi) is good for walking and ideal for swimming during high tide. However, the beach itself is quite dirty, as there are only 3 resorts where the driftwood has been cleared.

Hat Yao has nothing much to offer. The three Resorts at Hat Yao Beach are all quite similar and have four star comfort. Their restaurants offer Western and Thai Cuisine. All Resorts have daily shuttle services to Krabi Town and Ao Nang. There are no restaurants in Hat Yao, only some Muslim food stalls along the road. If you stay in Hat Yao and want to explore the province of Krabi a vehicle is a must.

The rooms at Nantra de Deluxe are spacious and offer all amenities of a four star resort. The Nantra de Deluxe offers various trips every day to Krabi, to one of the islands, and to Ao Nang etc. all of which are included in the room rate.

The prices at Sea House Beach Resort Restaurant are reasonable. Thai and European dishes are offered. The Sea House Beach Resort offers daily trips to Krabi and Ao Nang as well as boat trips to various islands, included in the room rate.

The Beach Boutique Resort should not be calling itself 'boutique'. The rooms have all the amenities of a 4 Star Hotel and the staff are very friendly. The restaurant is very small and has no flair whatsoever. Neither does the pool area.
