Excellent resort with a very good reputation, located on the most beautiful part of the beach, the wooden beach chairs are surrounded by high coconut palms and a botanical garden with ecological projects. The Chumpon Cabana Resort is very popular with Thai people during weekends and holidays. 6 cozy cottages with fan and bathroom set in a green tropical garden under the open sky. There are also 20 comfortable bungalows, two of them especially built for people in wheel chairs, with air con and a hot water kettle. An impressive hotel building with 3 storeys was built with ecologically friendly technology, 99 beautiful rooms with balcony and a high standard of comfort. However, the rooms located on the ground floor are rather dark and musty. For families there is an additional bed free of charge. Chumpon Cabana Resort has a beach bar and a nice restaurant with a large choice of excellent dishes prepared with organic vegetables and rice grown on their own farm and a fantastic buffet for breakfast also. The entrance hall is open on all sides, equipped with beautiful wooden furniture,a bamboo roof and sea view, daily newspapers and magazines and books in different languages are available.In addition, there is a shop with local and handmade products, Thai Massage and a herbal sauna, free WLAN, licensed money changer, PADI diving school, large pool (30m) beautifully located in a tropical garden. Interesting day trips with cultural and/or ecological backgrounds. There is a shuttle bus to Chumphon, 4 times a day, 150 Baht/person. The bus stops at the train station, bus station and shopping mall in town.

The Camp Resort on Thung Nang Dam Island is a unique tent resort in the south of Thailand. The tents are set up 5 metres from the sandy beach under huge casuarina trees. These tents are true 3-star tents with a sleeping room and a separate sitting room in front, from where there is a fantastic view of the sandy beach, the Andaman Sea and Ko Ra Island further to the left. The rooms are well equipped with mats on the floor, very comfortable thick mattresses, some nice and cozy furnishings and a good fan. The doors consist of zipped mosquito screens. The sitting room is very comfortable and nice to look at.
Sanitary rooms are 40 meters back behind the restaurant building. Food is served under a large roof from natural material. This food is a reason already to come to The Camp Resort. The dinners are a sensation in itself: seafood in quantities that nobody is able to finish, in a quality that could compete with any famous seafood restaurant in the south, served with a warmth of character that makes your heart to really enjoy the meal.
All guests to whom we spoke were full of praise for this dinner, but also for the breakfast and the slightly smaller lunch.
Listening to all this praise (that we fully share from our own experience) makes us almost forget the other facilities that the resort has to offer. These are swimming in the sea, walking along an absolutely lonely beach, collecting big seashells, walking through the pristine nature of the island, riding mountain bikes to the farthest corners, kayaking in the sea, and taking a guided boat trip around the island visiting fish and crab farms.
In the package the transfer from Khuraburi bus station to the island and back is included.
In a two day package a trip to the Surin Islands can be arranged at self cost.
Diving and snorkeling in the north of Ko Ra is possible but not recommended as the currents tend to be too strong creating a less than acceptable visibility.

Sawasdee Lagoon liegt 4,4 km vom H4 entfernt in ländlicher Umgebung. Die einzigartige Idee des Besitzers ist es, einen preiswerten Campingplatz mit vielen Freizeitangeboten und Bewirtung anzubieten. Die 12 Zelte "Ing-Nam" stehen am Ufer des recht grossen Sees aufgereiht unter einem Schattendach aus Palmblättern. Weitere Zelte "Kiang-Daow" stehen weiter hinten sehr ruhig unter Kasuarinen. Die Zelte sind gut eingerichtet mit Betten, Nachttisch, Bodenmatten, Lampe und Steckdosen. Auch 3 schöne Zimmer stehen fuer Gäste zur Verfügung, die komfortabler nächtigen wollen. Neben Fahrrädern und Paddelbooten gibt es auch Ballspiele, einen originalen Tischfussballkasten und echte Thai-Massage. Im Restaurant wird original lokale Kost serviert wie man sie als Tourist sonst kaum bekommt.
Etwas ganz Besonderes sind die Toiletten des Platzes, die vom Gesundheitsministerium als "Best public Toilets 2009" ausgezeichnet wurden. Sie sind wirklich die schönsten, die wir je in Thailand gesehen haben. Auch eine geräumige Toilette für Behinderte steht zur Verfügung.

P.P. Land is a quiet, comfortable and ecological bungalow resort at the northern part of Ao Hin Kao. Paul from Belgium and his wife Pearl generate their 24-hour electricity supply completely with solar energy. They provide 16 nicely furnished wooden bungalows with thatched roof, open-air bathroom and veranda which are harmoniously integrated in the surrounding nature. P.P. Land offers a restaurant with excellent cuisine, homegrown organic vegetables from the own garden, Espresso and Cappuccino, homemade ice cream, yogurt, bread and bakery. No MSG is used in the kitchen. From the top of the restaurant you can enjoy watching the birds with a beautiful view of the surrounding nature. Swimming pool with filtered sea water is here for guests to enjoy. By the pool there is a spa with massages and treatments. Yoga classes, Batik courses and fishing trips are available. Free Wifi internet or you can use the computer in the restaurant if you don't have one. Motorcycle rental. The beach is not always suitable for swimming. Peaceful atmosphere, for nature lovers. The small Sita Garden is a summer cottage arrangement located directly on the beach. 5 attractive small houses (ranging from 2400-2800 Baht) with fan and aircon, tastefully decorated, shower/WC, kitchenette, large terrace with sea view, 4 bungalows with 3rd bed or separate children's room with bunk bed. Committed German owner, no hotel service, but excellent holiday home service - only once a week the place is getting cleaned, but very properly for two hours! Prior reservation especially for high season is necessary.
There is a new Seaview Room in the second floor of a new building 50 m from the beach. It is well equipped with aircon, fan, warm water shower, fridge and has a balcony with nice seaview -- all this for only 1600 Baht per night for 2 persons.
The special summer rate (July to September) is 1600 Baht per bungalow per night for 2 persons PLUS 300 Baht per night for each child. Sita Garden is bookable for a minimum of 7 nights.
In addition, a seaview room located on the upper floor of a two storey building is available for 1600 Baht.

Thai Life Homestay Resort and Spa features very special holiday houses. Khun Maneerat, the owner, wants to make tourists acquainted with Thai lifestyle in the countryside. The small and beautiful resort is situated at the edge of a cashew plantation, 1 km from the beach. The seven bungalows are built in central Thailand style on high stilts and they are equipped with all 4-star amenities, including a kitchenette and a large bathroom. One house is a double bungalow where the two units are connected by doors from the kitchenette. From the terraces there is a magnificent view over a lake to the sea. All bungalows are situated in a vegetable garden, where typical Thai vegetables were planted by the owner and her staff.
