For day trips to the Similan Islands various types of boats are available.
The fastest way is by speedboat which takes little more than one hour, although in rough seas this can be very uncomfortable and a terrible strain on the spine.
The slower converted fishing boats take nearly three hours to get there, but it is a relaxing time, in which the staff do their utmost to make this an enjoyable part of your holiday.

Every evening from 18 hours he gives information about tours around Khao Lak. You can book any tour from him, but he can not go below his cost as other tour agencies. Happy Lagoon Tour on the main road next to Nang Thong Supermarket is a professionally run tour and travel agency. The owner, Mr. Aoo Saephoo, is very knowledgeable and very helpful. He offers all transport and most tour facilities that are available in Khao Lak. He gives good advice even if he does not earn any money from this information. He can book bungalows on Similan Island, but advises also how to do it yourself. As his office is situated right at the bus stop he gets more than the average share of customers.
