Nopparat Thara is part of the National Park and consists of two beaches separated by the Khlong Son River. The beach usually referred to as Nopparat Thara is about 2 kms long and the main road to Ao Nang separates the beach from the restaurants and hotels.

The more pristine beach across the river is usually referred to as Long Beach. Here time stands still as there is no electricity and power is generated by diesel engines.
Long Beach can be reached by long tail boat from the pier (20 Baht one way).
Going by car or motorbike you take the road to Klong Muang and turn left into a newly paved road at the sign 'Private Beach' (about 10 kms).
During High Tide both of the long beaches are ideal for swimming and during low tide you have to walk hundreds of meters before swimming depth can be reached. The sandy beaches are lined by Casuarina trees.

Nopparat Thara main beach is far quieter than Ao Nang. The beach is mostly frequented by Thais. On weekends and bank holidays it can be crowded and you will find mobile foodstalls and vendors driving up and down the road. So just stroll along and take part in local life. You will often be invited to sit down with the locals and share food with them.

Noppharat Resort is a nice bungalow site with pool about 10 minutes walk from Nopparat Thara Beach. The restaurant offers Thai Cuisine at reasonable prices. The restaurant does not serve alcohol but you can bring your own. A small Mini market is just opposite. Noppharat Resort also has a tour counter and offers tours at reasonable prices and rents motorbikes as well. Noppharat Resort is highly recommendable at affordable prices.

The 48 rooms of the Sunda Resort are divided into three categories. The bungalows of Sunda Resort are spread out in a lush tropical garden with a natural river running through. The spacious bungalows are built on stilts and all terasses are overlooking the river. The restaurant does not sell alcohol but you are allowed to consume it in your rooms. The Sunda Resort has two pools and offers free shuttle to Nopparat Thara Beach and to Ao Nang. It is advisable to be mobile though.
