Getting to Ban Krut is most convenient by train, as the SRT Southern Train line traverses the village of Ban Krut, whereas the Petchkasem Highway passes far away in the hinterland.

Only two aircon busses per day drive directly from Bangkok to Ban Krut.
Highly recommended, though, is the trip by your own vehicle along the  most beautiful beaches from the north and from the south.
