From Udon Thani (from Bus Terminal 1) take either every 25 minutes bus no. 225 or 230 in the direction to Sakon Nakhon or Nakhon Phanom (42 baht) until the turn-off to Ban Pulu (at KM 49.9). Tuk-tuks are waiting here for the passengers to Ban Chiang (60 Baht pro Person, 6 km). Another option is the direct songthaew no. 1371 for 50 baht per person. It runs every 30 minutes along Pho Sri Road to the east. The journey takes one hour. From Sakon Nakhon with non AC-bus every 20 minutes, the fare is 65 baht. To get to Ban Chiang from Nong Khai is not convenient. It is a rather long trip which requires to change bus twice.
