Leaving Doi Saket

Chiang Mai has an international airport and planes to Bangkok and other destinations in Thailand depart from Chiang Mai. Direct flights to China and Myanmar also depart in Chiang Mai.
Take a taxi to the airport the cost is about 400 Baht.
By Bus

The bus station in Chiang Mai is located close to the H118 that comes from  Doi Saket. Buses to all destinations in Thailand leave here. You can take a taxi to the bus station. For further information on the schedule, click here
By Minivan

Minivans also do depart from the bus terminal in Chiang Mai. If you book them through  travel agent, they will as well pick you up from your accommodation.
By Train

The trains depart to Bangkok via Pittsanoluk and Ayuthaya. Check the time table on http://www.railway.co.th The railway station is just outside the city of Chiang Mai. Take a taxi from Doi Saket, the charge will be about 400 Baht.

Doi Saket Market (DoiSaket)

Closed in the Green Season

Doi Saket Market is the most important vegetable and food provider in Doi Saket. You find all kinds of vegetables, fruit, meat and fish. Some stands have precooked dishes to offer. There are telephone shops around the market as well as cosmetics, stationary and shoes. Two liquor shops, ice shops and a pharmacy. Saturdays the market also has fresh seafood and clothes. Different from other markets in Thailand, most vendors open their stalls around lunch time.


Songthaews

Songthaews via Bosang stop at the bus station and the railway station. They depart at Doi Saket Market.
