Koh Miang, Island No.4 is situated in the center of the Similan Islands


Island No. 4 is the starting point for every visit to the Similan Islands:

Miang Island or Similan Island No. 4 is the second largest in the Similan Island group and is the site of the headquarters. Miang Island has two beaches, one at the front to the east and one behind the island to the north, which is reached by a 20 minute walk through evergreen forest.

The beach is visited by more foreign tourists than Thai tourists and is a peaceful area for sunbathing and swimming. It is also very popular for snorkeling, with a variety of coral, plus cartoon and butterfly fish to see. You can enjoy a beautiful sunrise on Miang Island.


Similan Island National Park (อุทยานแห่งชาติหมู่เกาะสิมิลัน) (PhangNga)

"Similan" is a Yawi or Malay word which means nine or a group of nine islands. Similan Island National Park covers 32,000 acres. It was declared a national park on 1st September 1982.

The Similan islands are highly praised for their beautiful scenery, both onshore and underwater. The best time to visit is between November and April.
The Similan Islands are a group of nine islands, named as follows from south to north.
Huyong island known as Similan Island No. 1, Payang Island known as Similan Island No. 2, Payan Island known as Similan Island No. 3, Miang Island known as Similan Island No. 4 (The headquarters office is located on Miang Island), Ha Island known as Similan Island No. 5, Payu Island known as Similan Island No. 6, Pousar Rock known as Similan Island No. 7, and Similan Island or Similan Island No. 8. Bangu Island known as Similan Island No. 9 is the northernmost of the islands.

Island No. 4 has a tourist center, a welfare store, a restaurant, bungalows, tents, and other facilities. Miang Island has 2 clean beaches, one in front of the island and the small beach in the back of the island. The walking distance between them is 10 minutes.

Hat Na (หาดหน้า - Aew) (PhangNga)

Hat Na has a clean, beautiful beach, about 400 meters in length. The sky blue water is nice for swimming and snorkeling. There is a coral reef in the Northwest which makes it a good spot for snorkeling as well. Hat Na is located in front of the Similan Islands National Park Office (Island No. 4).

Hat Lek (Similan) (หาดเล็ก - Aew) (PhangNga)

Hat Lek is a small bay at the Similans where clams can be found.
There is a nature trail alongside the bay. If you pass by the moist evergreen forest you can see some scarce animals such as Caloenus nicobaric, Ptro hypomelanys, and many small animals.
Hat Lek beach is on Miang Island (Koh 4).

Khao Luang View Point - Attractions
Khao Luang View Point (ลานข้าหลวง - Aew) (PhangNga)

Khao Luang is a beautiful view point on Island No. 4 of Similan from which you can see the whole island.
On the way up there is a sign for support and services for tourists. The view point is an ideal place to enjoy the sunset.
Khao Luang View Point is accessible by a 30-minute walk from the National Park Office.
