Phang Nga province boasts many attractions on land and sea. Beautiful islands line the Andaman coastline including Jungle Island Area where mangroves grow. 
“How good is biking”? Nowadays it’s a very popular sport. It’s good exercise, pollution free and riding with family or friends is a great way to explore the countryside. To prepare for a bicycle trip it is important to be reasonably fit so a little exercise before you set off is beneficial. Preparation of other necessary equipment:
-- A hand towel for drying handlebars etc.
-- Drink 1 glass of water before, during and after exercise.

Before exercising always warm up first. Start with easy level cycling for 5 - 10 minutes. After that gradually increase speed if there is no muscle pain. For someone who has suffered from heart disease or hypertension keep a check on your respiration rate.

To prepare for your trip. 1. Planning the route: We must know where we are going. So check out the route and note the distances, terrain and points of interest.  2. Prepare your body before starting the trip: It is important to increase your level of fitness at least 10 days before the trip. 3. Prepare your equipment: Make sure you have the necessary clothing for the trip. Waterproofs for the rainy season and cool biking kit for the hot season. Both as light as possible. 4. Prepare your bicycle: Check your bicycle including the tyres, chain and sprockets. Make sure all bolts and fixings are tight. Carry a small toolkit with you such as a box spanner, adjustable wrench, screwdriver and a puncture repair kit. Carry a tyre pump and oil as well. Safety rules for biking around Phang Nga:

1. Reduce speed when on a narrow path and on sharp bends. 2. At intersections always look left and right before crossing. 3. Use the bicycle lane if there is one or keep to the left. 4. At crossings take care and give way to cars and motorbikes. 5. Give hand signals when turning left or right. 6. Ride at a safe speed for the route. 7. If on the main road, take more care and keep left. 8. Watch out for pedestrians on your route. 9. When crossing a big junction in Thap Put or Phang Nga town,     dismount and walk across with your bicycle.

Best practice for useing your bicycle in traffic :

Section 79 of the Traffic Law of Thailand: You must use the bicycle lane if provided. The Law of Traffic states that a bicycle must have 4 principal pieces of equipment :

1. A bell which can be heard at a distance of at least 30 meters.  2. Properly functioning brakes. 3. A white headlight clearly illuminating the road ahead not less than 15 meters and set at a level so as not to dazzle oncoming drivers. 4. One or more red rear facing lights which includes a reflector.
