Koh Phra Thong is an island in the Andaman Sea with a very unique flora. The vast savannah lands and the open Malaleuca forests give the island a certain feeling like in East Africa. Instead of antilopes there are large wild deer on the island.
The island has very well recovered from the desastrous tsunami. 
A few small bungalow villages from natural material have recently been built in the bay overlooking the two picturesque islands in the northwest of Koh Phra Thong.
