Krabi International Airport (code KBV) is 60 kms from Koh Lanta. You can then take a taxi or minibus to Koh Lanta.

By Train to Trang

Two trains per day go from Bangkok to Trang. In front of the train station you take a minibus to Koh Lanta.

By Bus from Bangkok

From the Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok aircon buses go to Krabi in 10 to 11 hours. Three buses depart early morning, all others in the evening. Most comfortable is the VIP24 bus. It is recommended to take the last bus at 19.30 which does not arrive too early in the morning.

By Bus from other destinations

From Krabi, buses depart to all tourist destinations in the south. Likewise buses come from the same destinations to Krabi.

Our two tables may be a guideline for bus transport from the Gulf and from the Andaman coast.

Fares and travel times are the same. You will find the appropriate departure times in your point of departure on signboards at any travel office.

By Minibus from other destinations

Minibuses also called minivans come from all tourist destinations in the south.

Our tables show the departure times from Krabi. Generally these minivans depart from Koh Lanta at 8 and 11 am. Fares and travel times are the same for the opposite direction.

By Boat and Ferry (motorbike and car)

The passenger boats come from Krabi, Ao Nang, Koh Jum, Jo Phi Phi or Phuket. They all land in Ban Saladan at the North end of Koh Lanta.

Petpailin Tours runs the speedboat service from Koh Phi Phi, Phuket and Koh Ngai.

At the ferry pier you can find motorbike taxis and many bungalow sites send their drivers there with brochures and price lists. So if you have not chosen an accommodation yet, you can choose there.

The car ferries, via Koh Lanta Noi, land 2 kms East of Ban Saladan. The ferries run from 6.00 am - 10.00 pm. They depart at Hua Hin Pier, then come into Koh Lanta Noi, you then have to drive for another 6 kms before the second ferry takes you to Koh Lanta Yai.
