The main beach of Pathio (also Pathiu) is named Bo Mao. It consists of fine white sand and stretches for several kilometers along the almost empty road.
The Beach of Bo Mao is ideal for travelers, who appreciate peace, nature, and long lonely walks on the beach. There are only a few bungalow resorts and restaurants right and left of the road, all located relatively far apart.

Pathiu Beach Resort is located approximately in the middle of Bo Mao Bay. It is a small family business and there is a restaurant and several small bamboo huts are on this quiet, sandy beach. They do not have an attached bathroom or a fan and they are about the size of the bed. The aircon bungalows have TV and attached bathroom and they are at the other side of the road in a beautiful garden. The family house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a big kitchen. The female owner of Pathiu Beach Resort called Pratumm speaks English fluently; you can obtain a discount rate if you stay for more than one week.

A little further north are the bays Ao Yai Ai and Ao Hin Kob. This is the beginning of the Giant Clam Marine Park, a real insider's tip for passionate snorkelers who can enjoy a seven-kilometer long coral reef.

A nice excursion is to the small offshore island of Koh Khai, only four kilometers from the coast, with heavenly beaches, crystal clear water and giant clams in the brightest colors. It is acclaimed to be a paradise for fishing enthusiasts (the return trip for the boat is about 1000 baht).

You can explore Cape Laem Thaem on foot, enjoy the broad view over the bay, watch the fishermen doing their work and observe the crustaceans.
In the bend of the road, just before the turn-off to the cape and its view point, there is a nice restaurant with very flexible opening hours and it is beautifully built on stilts above the water.
