Laem Thian

This tiny beach is in the middle of the east coast. It has very fine sand and is framed by rock formations. A depth of water between 2 and 12 meters offers good snorkeling even in the slightly choppy waters. Snorkelers can often watch  black tip reef sharks up to 2 meters in length! There has never been a report of any shark attack on snorkelers in Thailand, but caution should be exercised.
Laem Thian lies on a dirt road, about 6 km from Ban Mae Hat. A walk on the partially  steep but well developed trail takes about 2 hours.
The footpath from Laem Thian to Tanote Bay is hardly accessible at this time.
