The detailed description of these tours is available on the webpage
www.t-globe.com/14915
One of them is a 3-in-1 world class kayaking trip with 3 completely different kayak trips in one day: on a jungle river, on a tidal mangrove river and in a limestone cave in close contact to awe inspiring stalactites.
She also arranges a 4 hour jungle trekking in Khao Lak-Lamru National Park on hiking trails that even the locals do not know. This trek leads mostly in the shade through extremely beautiful vegetation with many flowers hardly ever seen. Mr Gaeng is a very reliable taxi driver. He never drives too fast and never makes any risky maneuvers. Mr Gaeng has a SUV for up to 4 persons. He mainly brings tourists from Phuket Airport to their resort in Khao Lak. For 2 passengers the transfer costs only 1600 Baht to Khao Lak, for 3 or 4 persons 2000 Baht. Booking is possible through Amy Minne from Internet Booking Service Khao Lak by email: khaolaktransfer@gmail.com
But Mr Gaeng is also one of the best tour guides in Khao Lak for private tours. His specialty is the 5-Highlight-Tour to Phang Nga Bay and around including James Bond Island and some of the most beautiful caves in the world. This tour is designed such that hardly any other tourist is encountered during his visit to these top attractions. To get the right timing he starts at 7.30 a.m. in the morning and returns around 19.00 h in the evening. This tour has been an absolute highlight for all tourists who went with Mr Gaeng.
His second exclusive tour is the overnight tour to Chiew Lan Lake in Khao Sok National Park watching large animals by the lakeside in the evening. No other guide in Thailand offers this type of wildlife watching.
His third exclusive trip is the half day snorkeling trip to Khao Na Yak National Park just in front of Thap Lamu near Khao Lak. Only Mr Gaeng is able to show the many underwater attractions at the reefs of this unknown National Park, like 4 different kinds of Moray Eel or a couple of Sepia.

Taxi Number 171 - Services

Taxi Number 171 (เท็กซี) (KhaoLak)

Miss Pimmanee (nickname Jiab) obtained the first legal taxi license in Khao Lak in 2009.
It took 10 long, long months to get the green number plate with the number 1 (later by government order changed to 67). She had to pass a difficult taxi driver course and had to fulfill many unforeseen requirements like a real garage for her car. Her taxi has a first class insurance (300 Baht per trip).
Miss Pimmanee is very friendly and speaks enough English to communicate with her passengers.
The transfer from Phuket Airport to Khao Lak costs 1700 Baht per trip for 2 persons.
If passengers get delayed she wants to be informed by a telephone call or by SMS.
If you did not book your hotel with the help of Internet Booking Service Khao Lak, you may still use the taxi service of Khun Pimmanee by mailing to khaolaktransfer@gmail.com
If the mail button at the bottom of this window does not work, please use the email address khaolaktransfer@gmail.com in your mail program directly. Thank you!

Police Boat 813 - Attractions
Police Boat 813 (เรือตรวจการณ์ 813) (KhaoLak)

The Police Patrol Boat 813 was washed 1.3 km inland by the Tsunami of December 26, 2004. Eyewitnesses saw the boat under full power navigating against the huge wave, but nevertheless riding backwards across Bang Niang River and being stranded 200 meters from Phetkasem Highway. As it is impossible to move the big boat from there to the sea, it is left there as the most remarkable Tsunami Memorial. In 2012 a new road was built to the boat passing the Tsunami Memorial Sculpture "Stabile".
On December 26, 2004, the police boat 813 was safeguarding the daughter of the King of Thailand and her son, who as guests of the La Flora Resort were enjoying Bang Niang Beach. On various videos the boat is seen in calm waters, then being abruptly lifted up by the approaching wave. Still at that moment nobody could expect the extreme speed and power of the wave. Most probably the water was so full of air that the propellers of the boat could not exercise their full thrust.

Tsunami Museum Khao Lak (KhaoLak)

The "Khao Lak Museum" was created by the long time residents Franky Gun and Richard Doring, commemorating Khao Lak's 25th birthday. In July 2015 it was renamed to "Tsunami Museum Khao Lak" and moved to the road leading to the Police Boat 813, where many more visitors are aware of its existence. The museum shows the history of tourism in the Khao Lak region. Many hotels, restaurants, tour agencies, dive centers and other businesses of Khao Lak display their history since the year 1987, when the first tourist business, the Khao Lak Bungalows, was opened in Khao Lak. Other historical artifacts, maps, pictures and documents are also presented in the 40 square meter exhibition room.
The "Tsunami Exhibition" honors the efforts of the Khao Lak people and their friends to reconstruct Khao Lak in the year following the disastrous Tsunami of December 2004. Original documents show the help of the true friends of Khao Lak, help by means of donations for specific Tsunami victims and by goods that alleviated the severe pain of effected Khao Lak residents. Videos about the Tsunami in Khao Lak are displayed.
Entrance is free, a donation can be given at the discretion of visitors.
The museum guide, Khun Id, can give explanations in Thai and English. A glass of water is offered free of charge. At a counter in front of the museum competent staff from T-Tour gives information about the attractions in the Khao Lak area. They can also arrange a taxi for visiting Tsunami related memorials.
