There is a restaurant next to the water with a nicely decorated sitting and lying area on top of a rock. Altogehter beach 99 has a really nice atmosphere.
Beach 99 has existed for 25 years and is being managed by a lovely Thai family. Many of the guests have been here before.

Our top suggestion for noodle soup. Good anytime, but especially for waking you up if you're hungover:
Ayutthaya Senas Noodle Soup (ร้านก๋วยเตี๋ยวอยุธยาเสนา) (ThongSala)

Located along the main road, just a minute from 7eleven and Panthip Night Market, Ayutthaya Sena's Noodle Soup offers authentic noodle soups with ingredients to order (meat, seafood, veggie) and spicyness according to your taste. Ask for the plate of herbs and sprouts on your table, just like any Thai would get. The seafood-soup is very recommended!
Very good also: The crisps which can be ordered additionally and just need to be put inside the soup bowl.
In this place you will see more Thais eat than Farangs.

After all that rice you are craving pizza?
The best Som Tam (Papaya Salad) in an interesting surrounding:

Som Tum Stand - Restaurants
Som Tum Stand (้ร้านส้มตำ ขนมจีน) (SriThanuBeach)

Not far from the Sri Thanu 7 Eleven you will find this stand on a sandy square. It is built from bamboo and you can see smoke coming out of its top already early in the morning. You have to try the Som Tum here,Make sure you let the friendly woman know how spicy you would like to have it. Just indicate by hand how many chills you want.
With the salad you can have a piece of barbecued chicken or an entire sweet water fish, also from the barbecue and spiced very interestingly. Additionally you should order a bag of sticky rice. Thats all for a perfect meal!
At the restaurant next door you can buy cold drinks and fresh coconuts.
While eating this delicious meal you can watch the funky crowd pass by on the main road.

Big Mountain Hot Pan (HatChaoPhao)

Big Mountain Hot Pan was the first restaurant on the island offering this very special meal. By now, there are several others, most of which you can find around Ban Tai.
The concept is simple and delicious at the same time:
You have an aluminum pan at your table, set above a wooden fire. On the pan you can barbecue stuff, around it there is a little 'ditch' with soup which gets spicer by the minute as all the juices from the barbecue drip into it.
There is a huge buffet with lots of veggies, different meats, seafood as well as spices, sauces, fruits and prepared things like fish cakes and meatballs.
It works as an all-you-can-eat thing, but if you leave something on your plate, you will have to pay extra.
For dessert: Homemade coconut ice cream, delicious!!
