The large compound in the center of Hat Salad is studded with palm trees and shows a well maintained garden with immaculate lawn and many flowers. A parking area with sun roofs is available for guests in the back of the property. The nice bungalows of medium size offer all modern amenities as well as a small tea kitchen with a large fridge. The two beautiful beachfront bungalows have a large terrace 5 meters from the beach, for a very reasonable price. A friendly, old Thai couple with Burmese staff takes very good care of the bungalows and the garden. The owners live in Spain most of the year. Thai massage, restaurants and cocktail bars are available on the neighboring beach properties.

Perched on the hill overlooking the whole bay of Haad Salad, Hope Bungalows consists of a row of simple backpacker bungalows all facing the ocean with great sea views across the treetops. It's a simple family operation, with a restaurant offering basic home-cooked Thai food. Everything is very clean and clearly a lot of effort is put into keeping the neat terraced gardens and simple rooms tidy. There are a couple of more substantial cement bungalows with glass windows and mosquito screens, but the majority are woven-sided bungalows with wooden shutters and mosquito nets. Insect life would no doubt have no trouble getting in, but the mozzies probably aren't at all bad because of the height and the sea breeze.

Sky Bar offers the best view in the Northwest of the island. Unfortunately, they have only one room for rent, but this is quite affordable at 1400/night, considering what you get. There is a little pool which seems to float over the bay.
